The share of renewable sources in electric energy production has a considerable effect on operation and development of the entire electrification system. The further development of renewable sources requires modifications and regulations of electric systems, in both network and services.
Research is focused on new approaches to modelling of power systems, because methods of numerical modelling and simulations can hardly cope with enormous load in the stage of model definition and in the stage of calculations. Novel concepts are based on so called multidomain simulations with respect to energy sharing in electrical and also thermal, mechanical, magnetic, pneumatic or hydraulic form. Instead of creating extensive global models, the new approach seeks methods of calculations for small holes, with the use of grid computing for difficult problems etc.
