Research activity deals with safety of electric networks with focus on safety of users i.e. persons and property in the environs of power systems. In the focus of attention is safety in a case of failure and switching off state, and minimization of the number of users affected by a failure of network segment.
Research involves new algorithms for protection of energy network using data from new measurement and protection systems (Wide Area Monitoring System-WAMS, Wide Area Protection System-WAPS and Wide Area Situational Awareness – WASA).
Investigations is aimed to new technologies for measurement of fast transition phenomena and on-line processing taking into account a certain degree of uncertainty in input data and new diagnostic methods for increasing the reliability of insulation of high-voltage and very-high-voltage devices.
